Martin Tanaka

Hello, I am Martin Tanaka, technical consultant and C.E.O. of Open Door Innovations.  I have extensive knowledge of product design stemming from over a decade of experience designing high quality commercial products in industry.  In addition, I have nine years of experience helping local companies develop innovative products. Over the past 25 years, I have worked on a variety of different projects in multiple industries including automotive, biomedical,  military / defense, HVAC, and petrochemical.

Having experience at all levels of engineering from entry level to engineering management, I understand each step of the product development process and how it is conducted at multiple different companies.  This first hand experience is essential when helping companies achieve their goals.

Since 1994, I have integrated quality control methods into product development utilizing six sigma training I received while working at Texas Instruments Inc.   I also employ design for manufacturing (DFM) techniques to optimize products for the manufacturability.  These three aspects must be taken into account to design and produce high quality and profitable products.

I enjoy working collaboratively with people and would like to have the opportunity to help you with your specific needs.
